East Lake Metals is excited to offer Dupont Tedlar® in partnership with Metal Alliance. Metal roofing with DuPont Tedlar® is the most innovative and superior metal roofing available today. The Tedlar® PVF film is laminated to aluminum metal roofing for advanced resistance to UV, corrosion, harsh chemicals, and pollution. This state-of-the-art architectural product consistently outperforms PVDF paints in all performance categories. If you are looking for a superior product for your next project, let us know!
What is Tedlar®?
Dupont invented polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) polymer in the 1940’s, and by the 1950’s began developing products based on the material. In 1961, Dupont registered the Tedlar® brand name in the US and construction started on its first production facility in Buffalo, NY. More than 50 years later, Tedlar® film is recognized as the high-performance standard to surface protection, with proven durability in harsh operating environments.
Why use Tedlar® PVF film?
Resistant to weather, UV rays, fading and corrosion
Impervious to harsh chemicals and pollution
Resistant to the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria
Environmentally safe
Easy to clean and disinfect
Resistant to stains
What can Tedlar® be used for?
Tedlar® PVF has been used globally for many different applications for over 60 years.
How is Tedlar® metal roofing made?
Tedlar® PVF film is securely bonded to metal with flexible adhesives specially chosen to resist moisture and UV radiation using a hot lamination process. Applied in an automated, continuous fashion, the film permanently becomes part of the metal substrate, allowing the film’s protective surface to expand and contract with the underlying substrate during temperature fluctuations and fabrication. Even after extensive aging, Tedlar® film cannot be removed. This ensures a low maintenance, durable structure with superior resistance to wind, water, sunlight, hail, acid rain, chemical exposure and pollution.
